Moving to Boulder, brief hiatus

HageyMedia blog is taking a mid-week break as we relocate to Boulder, Colorado! It involved an epic road trip in a loaded-down Subaru Impreza from Oakland, California through a friend’s ranch outside Reno to the long, desolate Highway 50 across Nevada and Utah, punctuated near the end by the majesty of Canyonlands National Park’s Island in the Sky district outside Moab, Utah.

The power + promise of real estate community marketing

Inman Connect wrapped today and, like most of them, a day’s missing. Thus this post wraps days 3 and 4 together. Great meetings, but I wanted to be in more sessions. Connect’s a great opportunity to place a finger on real estate’s jugular and catch a pulse. That emerges in conversations, too, but it really steeps on stage. An interplay between the two is best.

Attack of the real estate concierges

Day 2 of Inman Connect was full of what the conference does best: #meetingsonmeetingsonmeetings. Brad interviewing News Corp CEO Robert Thomson on the mainstage was a highlight. The globe-trotting discussion hit on many topics, which shined with insight thanks to Thomson’s broad knowledge and experience and Brad’s piercing interviewing skills.

Inman Connect SF 2016: Day 1

Inman’s sprawling, energetic conference kicked off today in downtown San Francisco. It used to be that Tuesdays before the conference were sleepy — not anymore, especially with today being free.

Zillow Group hackathon winners

Holmes, besides having the best name of Zillow Group’s inaugural zip.Code event, took home the people’s choice title for its mobile app that allows consumers to find homes using augmented reality. It was one of the event’s seven winning teams.

Farewell Inman, Thank you

After nearly four years as a reporter at Inman, I’m moving on to work as a content writer, editor and strategist for real estate startups, brokerages and agents. My last day is today, Friday, October 2.
